Issue 9 > Regions in Transition I: Sustainability challenges and opportunities in cities and regions
As part of the 2021 Regions in Transition theme, the Editorial Team of Regions e-Zine welcomes articles within the general theme of Sustainability challenges and opportunities in cities and regions. We are particularly interested in articles debating the impacts of climate change on planning and regional development, contemporary land use challenges in the context of cities and regions, circular economy, nature-based solutions, energy-efficient buildings and low carbon infrastructures. Addressing the new sustainability challenges and planning for the circular economy also include contributions from the regional studies community to learn about localized supply chains and relevant environmental policies, such as the impacts of international agreements on local development or the more recent debates on the developments of green deals in the EU and the USA.
