Issue 26 โ€“ Infrastructure, Connectivity, and Regional Resilience

Spatial Infrastructure, Connectivity, and the Resilience of Regional Systems

This issue examines the role of infrastructureโ€”both physical and socio-technicalโ€”in shaping regional connectivity and resilience amid multiple forms of systemic disruption (economic, environmental, and technological). Key explorations include:

  • The integration of hard infrastructure (transport, digital networks) with emerging infrastructural logics (energy systems, data ecosystems)
  • Connectivity as a dimension of accessibility, economic integration, and regional innovation capacity
  • Resilience frameworks that respond to climate risks, supply chain volatility, and demographic shifts

Priority topics:

  • Spatial economy, housing, and infrastructure transitions
  • Linking infrastructure connectivity with inclusive regional development
  • Resilience strategies at local, national, and cross-border scales

Deadline โ€“ Issue 26

Issue 26 (Regions as Connected Systems III) will run from September to the end of December 2026. The indicative submission deadline is the third week of December 2026.
